Arrival and Dismissal
Please arrive promptly! The class begins at 8:45 am. Monday-Friday. Please walk your child to the classroom and we will see that they enter safely. Although we arrive at 8:30, the teachers need preparation time. Doors open at 8:45.

The children do not need to bring any toys or objects to the class and should leave them at home or in their locker. If they have brought something special for the circle time, we will hold it and bring it out during circle.

Please pick children up promptly at 11:45 a.m., since they will wonder where you are when you are late. If you are unavoidably detained, please notify us as early as possible. Afternoon session starts at 12:00 p.m. and pick-up time is 3:00 p.m. If a child is frequently picked up late or dropped off before 8:45 a.m., we will charge for the time. Please check your child’s locker at the end of each day to ensure that no clothing or cherished items are left.

A form telling us who is authorized to pick up your child is provided. Please complete and return it right away.

All important events will be indicated on an activities calendar provided periodically (check your child’s locker). Important events include:

Summer Celebration – June (A welcome to the summer season and a closing of the school year. All parents, family and children are welcome.

Communicable Diseases
If your child is suspected of having a contagious, or communicable disease, consult your physician immediately and notify the school promptly.

Birthdays
Each child will have a special snack on the day of the celebration – brought from home (please keep them nutritious). Parents may send a mounted pictorial time line of the child’s early years (one picture for each year of growth – no more than five pictures), a short biography (interest, loves, behavior, favorites, future thoughts, etc.), which we will read. If you and your child would like to donate something to the classroom such as an appropriate book, poster, art materials, etc., (check with the teacher), it would be greatly appreciated and given in the child’s honor. This is optional.

Tuition Payments
Please be prompt when making your tuition payments. There will be a 1.5% per month charge for payments received more than 30 days after the due date. If problems arise, please notify the school.

Dismissals
We always enjoy working with children and give it our best effort through the good times as well as the difficult times. If a child becomes too aggressive (hitting, biting, destroying others’ work, tantrums), we may have to ask you to pick them up. A conference may follow. If a child is too tired or comes to school with an illness, we may call you to pick them up.

School readiness and stress in social situations can sometimes only be evaluated after a child is present in these programs. Sometimes the behavior is only temporary in the child’s life. The school cannot be held responsible to modify difficult behavior patterns. The Montessori enter will provide you with support, basic advice, and encouragement.
